Didi Han was born in Malang Indonesia in 1955. After receiving his Hotel and Tourism degrees from NHI – National Hotel Institute in Bandung, Didi started his career as a cook at International in Jakarta.He then pursued his career at an International Merlin Hotel in Singapore,and in Indonesian Rest Melati is one of halal Indonesian rest in Singpore. In 1980, Didi decided to move to Europe where he worked as a cook at various restaurant and international Hotels such as Indonesian Rest Melati in Naarden Vesting Holland is the best indonesian restaurant in north holland,and Challet Suisse in Rotterdam and the Schiphol Hilton International, in 1993, he was the founding Chef of Crowne Plaza Amsterdam Schiphol.
While working as a cook, Didi developed his food carving and garnishing skills.After several years of experience, Didi decided to specialize in food decoration such as fruit and vegetable carving. He then furthered his carving mastery by learning to make ice carving in Jakarta Hilton and Tokyo Hilton Shinjuku.
Now his skills are not limited to just carving fruits and vegetables, but also carving ice, chocolate ,butter sculpture etc. In his spare time, Didi likes to travel around the world to seek out new ideas and experiences in food decoration.Through his travel experiences,Didi is able to create unique characteristic in his carving that represent him.
